My greatest challenge as a photographer is to capture the essence of a person in one image. When one steps in front of my camera, we enter into a relationship to work towards this end. Of course, one picture can never achieve this, but to give a glimpse of that inner life is to have made a memorable portrait. My approach is multi-disciplinary, drawing upon technical expertise, composition, direction, and a sliver of psychology. When clients and organizations give me this opportunity, they, in return, receive my truest efforts.
